OLYMPIA — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is accepting public comment through Nov. 15 on proposed updates to the state Hydraulic Code, which regulates construction work in and around state waters.

The Hydraulic Permit Application review process, which has been in place since 1943 to ensure bulkheads, docks and culverts meet state standards for fish and wildlife protection, is controlled by the Hydraulic Code, which was last updated in 1994 with the exception of changes specific to mineral prospecting in 2008.
